A Guide To: Monochromatic Work Wear

Today's look is a mix of high and low pieces. You don't have to spend a million, to look like a million bucks!

My pants are Old Navy, my go-to for work pants and my shirt is GAP. Both under $50 and I wear them constantly. A great white button down is essential in your work wardrobe because it will go with any skirt or pant and you can even layer it under a simple shift dress.

My jacket is Club Monaco. Pricey yes, but more often than not, everything at Club Monaco goes on sale. I didn't pay the $398, I waited until right before Christmas when it was on sale and an additional 40% off to snag it then. (It's still on sale!) In this case, patience paid off!

Finally, this Rag and Bone hat is a little harder to find on sale, but there are so many similar styles with smaller price tags. Just make sure you know the return policy before you buy, especially online. Some hats don't always look the same on me as they do on the model (#bigheadproblems). I found these similar, less expensive options here!  A / B / C

My advice- spend your money on items that aren't going to show the wear and tear of your commute or the 9-to-5.

Shirts stain, and pants get smaller (or god bless, bigger). A quality work coat will last you a few seasons, if not longer! Stick with a simple silhouette and a versatile color. Navy, camel, black, and grey are my go-to's. Even though that bright pink coat is currently in style, I bet it clashes with most of your workwear sitting in your closet. Same goes for the military jack- it WILL go out of style.

Thanks for reading along, friends! Make sure to check back on Monday for my top 5 favorite work coats that are currently on sale!
