Beauty Buys: Volume II

beauty buys

Does anyone else find trying new beauty products to be addicting? I love nothing more than trying new eye creams, night oils, face masks, you name it- I'll try it. Somewhere in life I was convinced that if you continue to use the same products on your skin, you will become immune to them. Honestly, whoever told me that should earn commission on all my beauty purchases.

I love hearing what works for other people and I do my best to stay educated on what I am putting on my face and hair. And while Beauty Counter is super popular right now, I haven't bought into the system yet, maybe because I am happy with what I'm currently using.

So today's post is about my current favorite products and what I have been using lately. If you missed "Beauty Buys: Volume I" from this past winter, check it out here!

What are your go-to beauty products? I'd love to know what you're using!

On My Vanity:

Supergoop is a great sunscreen that I wear under my bronzing powder. It goes on matte and doesn't leave your skin white or shiny.

My sister turned me onto this Nuxe Lip balm and while it is a little expensive, I've had mine forever and it is the best lip balm! It isn't sticky, doesn't smell, and doesn't taste funky!

Lashes:

Lash extensions used to be my go-to beauty secret. But since that addiction was $$$ and time consuming to keep up with, I decided to try something new. NeuLash has been a savior! I used it almost every night before bed and have seen a huge difference in my lashes. There are a ton of lash serums out there, but this is the only one I've used.

I posted this Marc Jacob Mascara months ago, when I stopped getting the lash extensions. I needed a new mascara and has seen this on some bloggers instagrams. For a girl who HATES mascara, I love this one! Honestly, I was totally influenced by seeing other women use it and now I'm on my second tube of it. It lasts FOREVER and really makes my lashes long and full looking!

Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleaner: This face wash is my current favorite. My roommate uses it and she has beautiful skin. So when I needed to try a new one I decided to try out this safe product. It is great for oily skin and I love that it tingles your skin a little after you wash your face. I use it in the AM because it helps wake me and my skin up! It also lasts forever, I've had it for 3 months and the bottle still feels full.

Olaplex No. 3: I started using Olaplex about a year ago. A stylist in Chicago told me that it would help with my hair breakage and split ends. Honestly, I don't think I use it consistently enough to see that much of a difference on my own hair. But one of my best friends uses it weekly and her hair looks amazing! We both color our hair regularly and had the same issues of breakage and baby hairs- since she's been using Olaplex, her hair looks much healthier! This week I've used it twice and am excited to stick to a schedule and see my results! Will report back...

I was first introduced to Image Skincarea couple years ago in Detroit. Their products were used when I had a facial in Birmingham, MI. I fell in love with the smell of the products, the fact that they had vitamin c in them and how they brightened up my skin. It's one of the few products I continue to repurchase and use this mask once a week.

I posted about these Drunk Elephant products on my instagram a couple weeks ago. They are "safe beauty" products as well and I think these might be a staple in my skin care routine for a while. To be honest, I use the day serum the most, because I have other products to use at night. But the Baby Facial is one of the best masks I have ever used. Have you heard the buzz about it? I didn't believe it until I tried it and now I want to buy the big guy version of Baby Facial. It does tingle a little when using it, but it goes away fairly quickly. The results are totally worth the $$$ and MILD discomfort!
