I always find it hard getting dressed this time of year. It's not quite spring and boy, am I sick of my sweaters and turtlenecks! When it's not warm enough to show some leg and no longer cold enough to bundle up in sweaters, I find myself reaching for classic wardrobe staples when we're "between-seasons". I try to mix up my go-to outfit - jeans, a tee, and a jacket - with a variety of accessories that make me look pulled together, even when I'm feeling fashionably uninspired.
Below are three ways to spruce up your "between-seasons" wardrobe!
- Add a scarf. Whether it's winter, spring, summer or fall, adding a scarf can add life to any outfit. Scarves come in a variety of textures and fabrics that suit any season. Like this amazing blue fur stole - this sucker can dress up any outfit and adds another layer in the cold. Since we are getting closer to springtime (fingers crossed), try adding this cute silk scarf! I love these floral scarfs that are pretty much everywhere right now. Throw on with a pair of jeans and a white tee and you're all set! Make sure to scroll down for more of my favorites.
- Add a Headband. Headbands are back this spring and adding them to your wardrobe is a super fun way to add a colorful accessory to your outfit. I am obsessed with these headbands from Anthropologie, but there are so many fun options! I think the knotted headbands are much easier to wear and deal with than the scarf DIY, but that's a personal preference.
- Add a bold lip. Well, this one isn't groundbreaking, but it's a trick that I frequently rely on. We all have those long days where we don't want to change our work clothes for date night or those nights when the effort just isn't there. When that happens, I always put on a fun lip color and throw my hair up in a tight bun. It makes me feel instantly more pulled together and elevates whatever I am wearing, even if it is just jeans and a sweater.
