Tuesday's Top 10: My Reading List
I love reading. I grew up in a family who loved going to the bookstore together, recieved books for Christmas, and spent down time reading. As an adult, it is harder to find time to read, but I try to make an effort as much as I can. Below are my current bedside books and some that I look forward to reading! What's your favortie book? I'd love to hear and add it to my list!
What I've Recently Read::
You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero: This book was a nice break from my mystery novels. You Are a Badass is pretty much everything nice and supportive any parent, friend, or family member has said to you, just written down and organized. It's encouraging, motivating, positive, and a whole bunch of reality thrown at you. It made me think, plan, and remeber to do things for myself that make me happy.
The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda: I read this is 3 days. I want to say it's because it was that good, but it unfortunately wasn't. I thought there was going to be some huge, surprise ending, and it was sort of a letdown. There were too many plots going on and I was annoyed at the end when they all didn't come together. It's not bad for a quick beach read, but just wasn't one of my favorties.
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris: When I picked this book up at the book store, I thought I'd love it. It's about a young married couple, living a "perfect" life. From an outsider, they are in love and have everything. But "behind closed doors" it is the most messed up relationship I've ever read. It is disturbing and while I read it in 3 days, I didn't enjoy it. There are other books out there, Girl On The Train, Hypnotist Love Story, Big Little Lies, etc. that I like more.
What I'm Reading::
Jesus Calling by Sarah Young: I try to read this every day when I wake up. It sets my day up for success and I enjoy having a moment of reflection and prayer before I start my day.
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty: So far, so good! I love everything Liane writes. My Husbands Secret is one of my favorites. This one is about a women who wakes up in 2008 thinking its 1998. She no longer is living her perfect life and remembers nothing of the past 10 years. I know I am going to love this one too, it has already hooked me and I can't wait to go to bed tonight so I can read more!
What I'm going to read:
All the Light You Cannot See by Anthony Doerr: I have heard great things about this book. My mom LOVED it so it's on my list of things to read this summer and on my nightstand!
The Women in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware: Also, recommended by my mom and sister. This will be the book I read after I finish What Alice Forgot.
Spy Schools by Daniel Golden: I gave this book to my boyfriend when he tore his Achilles this winter. He read is and thought I would like it, so he gave it back to me. Ha! I find spies, the FBI, and anything respembling Alias to be fascinating. Can't wait to crack this one open!
Sisters First by Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush: I love Jenna Bush. Her sister and her book has gotten great reviews and I am eagerly looking forward to reading this ASAP!
