Have you ever taken on a project and 1/3 of the way done asked yourself "why am I doing this?". I asked myself this question about 10 times when painting these bookcases! BUT it so was it worth it! Luckily, I had some help. It took Joe and I two weekends to clean, sand, clean again, and then spray paint these two bookcases. While it took us a long time and a lot of work, they are so special to us and I love the way they turned out. I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to leave the "farm house" decor behind and these are the perfect amount of traditional to add to our living room.

We used this spray paint and we went though 10 cans! It took a ton of paint, maybe because I we did every inch of them 3x to really get a good coating. In order to shine up the door pulls I used this brass cleaner and a lot of elbow grease. They bring me so much joy that I wanted to share the before and after with all of you!
