Chicago is filled with beauty experts. I'm not an expert though, nor have I gone to every salon in Chi. But, I frequently get asked where I get my services done, so today I thought I'd share some of my go-to places for everything beauty related.

Let's start with my hair...

Over the past 5 years I have gone to quite a few salons in Chicago. While I have loved most of them, my number 1 guy is back in Michigan. My mom, sister, and I have been going to Adam, at Tarro in Bloomfield Hills, for probably 15 years. He's family, but he's also so far away! So while I'm in-between trips home, I have found a couple places that I like in the city.

Reverie: I go to Paige for my cut and color now. She is reasonably priced and the sweetest! It's located in River North and my favorite part of the service is that they give you a hand message while you get your hair washed. Highly recommend!

I have been getting lash extensions on and off for the past 4 years. I have loved them and I have hated them. Right now, I am back on the "loving them" wagon. I've tried a couple places, but have come back to the same gal, time and time again.

Fabulash: Maya is the best! Her prices are reasonable and she typically has a Groupon for your initial application. She's in a really small salon in an office building in Lakeview, but she's worth any travel. The lashes will be customized to your preference and she listens to her clients.

Lash Spot: Ah, memories. I started my lash extension addiction at Lash Spot in Lincoln Park. They have since closed that location, but have a couple around the city.

DON'T GO TO: Hair Fushion Bar in River North for lashes. I typically wouldn't say anything about a service or salon where I had a bad experience, but this one I have to share. I would feel awful if anyone went there and I could have saved them time and money. Let's just say that the tech got eyelash glue all over my hair and face. She didn't tell me she got it in my hair, so when I went home and later brushed my hair, I pulled out half of my hair. Not good!

I really can't say too much about skincare in Chicago. Just recently I started going to Leah Chavie in Lincoln Park. I have had one facial there and it was nice. Tomorrow I am going back to have another one, but adding on to their standard facial. Not sure yet what I will do, but I will hopefully remember to put it on insta stories for you all! I've heard wonderful things about their treatments from other bloggers and their reviews online are great!

Since moving here 5 years ago, I have only been to one salon to get my brows tinted and waxed. I go to Benefit Brow Bar on Armitage. Not only is it convenient, but it's a brow bar! They are the experts! I go to Meghan and she's the best. We have been working on my tint and shape for years! They also do lash tints too, which is a great alternative to lash extensions. If already have long lashes (jealous) then you can get them dyed black to look like you're always wearing mascara!

On the topic of Benefit...

I have gotten a couple spray tans at Benefit. They have the hand held sprayers, so you are tanned and toned by a professional. My roommate of 4 years went there often and she always loved her tan. I was never 100% hooked, but it's always a nice alternative to self tanning yourself.

The best spray tan I've gotten in the city is at the FFC on North Ave. It is an Ortanic Spray Tan and this one is done by a professional as well. This one seemed to have more control over the mixing of the color of your tan. It also lasted longer for me than all of the others I've tried.

I love beauty and trying new salons and spas! Are you from Chicago? What's your favorite?
